Mission Statement
The Epilepsy Leadership Council (ELC) is committed to improving the lives of people living with epilepsy by facilitating collaboration among our members. Our mission is to empower the epilepsy community by identifying and addressing the gaps in support, education, clinical care, and research.
The History of the Epilepsy Leadership Council (ELC)
The Epilepsy Leadership Council (ELC), originally known as Vision 2020, was established in 2012 as a collaborative effort among organizations dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by epilepsy. What began as a coalition of 20 organizations united by a shared vision for progress and advocacy has now grown into a powerful network of over 60 member organizations.
From its inception, the ELC has played a crucial role in amplifying the collective voice of the epilepsy community. By bringing together a diverse range of nonprofit organizations, the council works to raise awareness, foster innovation in research and treatment, and advocate for better policies and services for individuals living with epilepsy.
